Manila (March 17, 2021). Ambassador Marcela Ordoñez visited the Cofiport facilities in Lipa, Batangas - located an hour and a half from the City of Manila to see the roaster and coffee laboratory of the only Philippine company that imports green coffee directly from various regions of Colombia.
The Embassy of Colombia supports businessmen working to increase exchanges between Colombia and the Philippines, which is why it was interested in learning about Cofiport, which currently imports 15,000 metric tons of coffee beans for the Philippine market.
Cofiport is led by Weng Bagadion, a Filipino investor and social entrepreneur with a great passion for Colombia and the diversity of coffee found in all its regions.
Ms. Bagadion stated that she intends to become the recognized source of Colombian coffee in the Philippines, and that she is working to integrate Orange Economy initiatives into her vision, through a proposal that aims to give a visual and sensory experience about Colombian coffee and its places of origin to all concerned anywhere in the world, starting with the Philippines.
